Although certain striking similarities may be observed between Karen's own life and the circumstances of the strip, she staunchly maintains that Hill Valley is not autobiographical, pointing to the fact that Kathy, Dave, and their dog Izzy are all blondes. "Dan and I are both brunettes, as is our dog, Cozzie," she insists. "Furthermore, my hair is MUCH shorter than Kathy's." When asked whether the characters were just easier to draw that way, Karen said simply "no comment." |
